While we were in the midwest, my daughter and I took a road trip due west for the Iowa border. We then looped up into Wisconsin, stopped by Madison, walked the shores of Lake Geneva and made our way back down the Lake Michigan coast toward home.

Over the next couple days I'll be posting snapshots of that trip ... a glance here and a nod there, anything that struck our fancy as we thundered down the highway with Ding Dongs and coffee, and nothing to guide us but the great sky and an enormous, ever-changing sun.

Get ready ... it was the time of our lives!

You were so close, yet so far away :) I'm seeing parts of "home" in your photos. If you were anywhere near the state line by Lake Michigan you were near our old home. What a small world this is. I can't wait for more pictures.

You travel like I do, on a whim. Sometimes I just head for the sunny sky.

I love to just hop in the car and see where a road leads me! Can't wait to see pictures. I will try to post a little more about my Southern garden for you. I am afraid that the drought really affected my flowers this year, however, my large shrubs seem to have faired pretty well. I'll try to get out and take some pictures soon. I am waiting on my fall blooming camellias to do their thing! Hopefully, I'll have some great pictures soon. Enjoy your trip! Carla
