I took a winter walk into town yesterday as the snow fell in great flakes around me. The street was soft and soapy with salt, and the world looked slightly happier and cozy as I walked toward a major unknown in my life.

My mission was one-fold: to gird my loins for battle in the professional world. Ever been there? Most have, I'd think; especially in these economically distressing times.

Well, yesterday it was my turn to be brave and take a step into the unknown. (ugh). I was so glad to have the falling snow as a friend.

I thought to myself as I walked that this is the beginning of something new. The Chinese say that crisis is opportunity...Take a step forward, Allison!

Good things have always happened to me when it snows... and today the time is ripe. Wish me luck and a good dose of courage!

How exciting, Allison! You must tell us more about your new "job"? I think that's what you are referring to. Good luck in your new endeavor. I know you will be very successful. :)

Good luck. I love your snow pictures, so pretty. I would love to take a walk through your town. The mittens turned out great! I voted for no button, but move the button to the cuff to see how it looks there. Or maybe add 2 or 3 to the cuff to see how it looks.

What a nice walk, we are to get a bit more in the next few days.I'm taking my last pumpkin to the animals out at my conservation club. They love to nibble on something new.Pounding that pavement doesn't sound fun. Be like me and live a life of freedom.HA!Once in a while I see something that looks fun and give it a try.

Not really pounding the pavement as much as standing up for myself. ;) Double ugh!

Well...I have been where you are and I never knew just what I thought of it- mixed emotions for sure.
I know that wherever this "walk" takes you- you will take it on with as much zest and zeal as you do your everyday life:) You can take it on!!!! And I am so glad you had a beauty to walk through to get there!
Can't wait to hear about your Adventure:)

Hi Allison, I just recently found your blog and really enjoy it. I was in Switzerland a couple of years ago on business and just loved it. The people were wonderful and the country is beautiful. Thanks for the great pics.

Good luck, and what beautiful pictures! I think I'd want to stop and play in it, but then I wouldn't look so presentable for interviews. Snow always makes me feel like a little kid again.

Loveliest. Town. EVER!

Seriously, these are gorgeous. Winter's about to hit my Canadian neck of the woods in a major way, and these delightful photos have put me in the perfect frame of mind. I think I'll make sure the camera's batteries are charged, as a post-snowfall photo-walkabout is definitely called for.

Thanks for the inspiration!
