I want to thank you all for voting on whether or not I should include a button on the mittens I was making. Here's the thing... they are no longer mittens! I got half-way through the second one only to run out of yarn; what to do...what to do?!

Well, first things first. I would not accept defeat. So I ripped half of the first mitten out and made it into a mitt. (Yes, that meant I had to open the thumb as well, and that can be rather challenging for a knitter of my calibre.)

The finished product pleased me so much that I have decided to take your advice (which was a NO-button majority) and leave it off. The pretty hands of my teenager set them off to perfection.

(p.s. Go see Little Bit of Life today (icon on your left). Meg knitted much cuter mitts than these and you must see them!)

Those are super cute - and Emily's hands look darling! Great nails Em! I really like the long cuffs as they will tuck nicely into jacket or coat sleeves. Great yarn - beautifully done. I think I like them better as mitts.

Oh my goodness, I'm sorry you ran out of yarn for the mittens. But those turned out so beautiful. Job well done!

I'm going to have to ask my mom to knit me some of these. They are too cool! You did an excellent job, Allison.

These would be perfect for doing chores around the farm -- I hate gloves, but my hands do get cold! :)

You could have added a new color to these perhaps, it may depend on thickness. You do awesome work, maybe through experience.

They are great! (Thanks to your lovely daughter for modeling them!)

I'm like Nancy - I hate gloves and almost always refuse to wear them. Instead I pull the cuffs from my hoodie down over my wrists to cover half my hand - just like these mitts! :)

Yours are adorable! I love the color and I love how you didn't give up and made them work with what you had. Wonderful job!

(My hand model was me... *blush*. And thank you for the plug! LOL! Very sweet.)

Yes great job and yummy colors! Love the lavenders and blues. Reminds me I came across "convertible" mittens online designed specifically for texting. Couldn't have imagined such a thing in a million years..

What an ingenious idea that was, Allison.. they look adorable on those precious hands.
You have a stick-to-it personality and that's a good thing!

All is well here, just a bit cold for south Florida.
Hugs and smiles across the miles,
Pam :)
