Who says teenage boys aren't made of sugar and spice and all things nice?

I came home from running yesterday to find my son waiting for me outside the door. "You're late, mom." Yes, but the snow was so inviting and the arctic wind so enticing!

He took the key and went inside to warm up while I stretched and cooled down; but when I turned to follow him indoors, my feet found this... love on the ground - for me.

And my heart warmed like a blazing fire ... there is no cold, no whipping wind that can douse such a light.

You are my heart, my sweet.

"Little" boys have no idea how such small things can really pull at our heartstrings. I love this. ((Hugs)) to you and to your little boy for being so thoughtful. :)

PS - I'll try to take a picture of Mary's window soon. Just need to clear away some stuff so you can actually see it. ;)

A hobbit waiting for his mother, to make sure she is safe home, ready to get in to his warm fire and 'second breakfast'... carving a boy-shaped love note in the snow, complete with sneaker treads. Hold it fast in your heart, it is precious indeed.

What a sweet son! Full of cuteness and light! You might need to hold on to that memory to eclipse all the other personality traits to come. :)

Don't you love it when they surprise us with little things. They ARE made of a wee bit of sweet;))
