Goodness ... the world was spinning yesterday! So in between translating, laundry, cooking and taking care of the little hobbits, I took you all up on your kind advice to get some rest!

One forest green mitten is done, and the second will pass the finish line in about half an hour.

Made with elsebeth lavold Silky Wool XL, this yarn is a blend of wool and silk and feels like cotton on the skin. I wore the finished one to drive the kiddies to school (yes... I had mismatched mittens on, but I couldn't resist!) and I could feel a slight breeze whistling through the stitches, unlike malabrigo. Something to consider if you're looking to be toasty warm.

The pattern is Warmest Mittens, free for download at Ravelry.com.

Wait , I expected those children to be waiting on you hand and foot.I rarely remeber my parents being ill, if they did it was bad. My mom always stayed at the head of the bow to make sure we didn't destroy the home and each other.

Forest green is an awesome color! Making mittens sounds like a perfectly relaxing wintertime project as well as creative. Hope you're feeling better today.

The mittens are very cute! (I wear mismatched muck boots because they're the survivors from two different pair). :) I LOVE the header photo again, but I have to confess I didn't get tired of the last one yet!!! Glad you took time to rest a bit - make more room for that today!

(And I'm glad you saw the giveaway post today!)

That color is beautiful! One of these days I will do a pair of full mittens. It just seems kind of pointless here in southern California.

(At first I thought you had typed "translating laundry", without the comma, and I wondered how that worked. :P)

Turned out so cute! I love the little buttons you've added to the cuff :)

That blanket is awesome! Wow, you knit a whole blanket for a twin bed. I've knit large blankets, but never that big. :)

I think it is so nice that you can knit. I love the knitting blogs. Even though I can't knit I appreciate the talent.

I can't knit to save my life! I will get my fingers all knotted up. Lovely pair of mittens though and so cool to be able to knit them!
