Leaf Obsession
I knitted and then ripped out fingerless mitts for the Russian - twice! - because they keep coming out too big. That's what you get when you try to cable for a man.
So in my distress, I picked up a little pattern for leaves by Cocoknits (http://store.cocoknits.com/products/knitted-wreath.html) and knocked myself out. It's easy, takes about ten minutes to make one, and leaves you feeling successful and skilled in no time at all. (Never underestimate the power of illusion!).
Happy Fall!

As I sit at the computer drinking my 5:am morning cup of coffee the first thing that catches my eye is your new post.. I smile as I see your lovely mirror with a tiny fall leaf gently placed in a perfect spot at eye level.. it warms my heart, as I smile again.. thanks Alli.
Your nimble fingers create beauty for adornment and practicality for your Russian.. twice!

These might be nice on the end of a scarf or on a lapel.
laughing that you needed to validate your knitting skills! :) damn russian!
Oh, how sweet. Those would look great attached to a knitted cap! Just sayin'. :)
PS -- the photo today was of an African Daisy, not corn -- but it does look like corn, I agree!
Thanks for the link, I'm going to check it out. Your leaves turned out cute.
It gets pretty cold down in the catacombs (Jim's word for the basement where his office is) and I've been meaning to make him a pair of fingerless mittens. This was a reminder that I need to get moving on that :)
You are the sweetest wife. I don't know as I would re-do my work;))
The leaves are looking elegant and beautiful Allison! Wish you and family a wonderful fall season.
Yay leaves! They say fall more than any cabled fingerless mitts could. ;)
I love the leaves they are beautiful.
Thanks for the link, I will check it out too (although I'm a rubbish knitter)!!
They look great.
Happy Tuesday

Love the leaves Allison. So sweet for autumn decorations. Love you, Mom
These are great leaves! Love the Fall banner shot too. I love the Fall too, time for wonderful art studio tours, soup and warm bread. This reminds me too I'd better get out shopping for some mittens.
Those are wonderful, I love them.
I agree that the leaves would look adorable on a knit hat. I might give it a try once I complete the first blanket.
Love you!
