There is something so comforting about school buses ... the warm yellow of buses, of No. 2 pencils. I didn't think so when I was young; yellow pencils reminded me of test booklets, and buses of lonely rides. Only now as I sit at my own, grown-up desk do I feel the warm tug of school days gone by... and the sweet innocence of learning to think for myself.

Love you...

My children speak of their bus rides to and from school and they are memories they'll always have.

I still get a tug that first day of school.Haven't had kids to take for a long time and it has been a few years since I taught.

Funny, the sight of school buses and No. 2 pencils always make me feel nostalgic. Even though I didn't ride on a school bus as a child, I sure did use pencils. Interesting how they are the same color. :)

I am green with envy over the beautiful colors of the autumn leaves, Allison. We have barely cool off but the humidity has left.. (thank you Lord)
Aww school days I remember them well, especially the smell of pencils. I know that sounds silly but I can still smell them..
Happy days of long, long ago :)

be well, be happy my friend
