I find it fascinating the way mankind strives to honor God.

Crosses and shrines pepper the countryside, each unique in design and vision. Here, someone thought to give shade to the Christ as He hangs on the cross. Compassion or sense of beauty?

i like the 'protection' aspect of it - like he needs protecting, yet he is our protector...

What a beautiful sight. I think the trees are just as much a testament to God as the cross is! :)

Pretty trees...Wonder if they wanted to provide some shade as well?

Here I believe it just a sense of honor. Honoring the ones who died in a specific place. We have them all over the highway.

I see both compassion and beauty in this roadside memorial. Perfectly framed by nature and mankind.. a pause for thought and hope.
