A life wanes as the autumn flower, drying on its stem, becoming more beautiful as it grows old. Such is the lot of humankind; living, learning, aging, dying. It does seem ironic that by the time you've learned to stand up for what you believe in and sit down when it isn't worth fighting over, by the time you have grasped the essence of life you find it slipping from you.

If you read Saturday's post, you will know what I'm talking about. Her wake is today, and so I pay tribute to a woman who did just that during her lifetime; someone who pursued the truth when it needed pursuing and had the grace to sit down when her time had come and gone.

Still some life left in both the mother and flower. The flower has seed to share for birds and new plants, the mother has sown her seed, but shares a wealth of memories.

Thank you for your nice words! Carla, we are already home in Switzerland. I've been posting pictures of the trip we took in October. :) A trip that certainly did not last long enough! Hugs your way...
