Have you ever been down Elkhorn way? Here is an all-American beauty of a town, though I was informed by a local that it lacks one important ingredient to true excellence... a Walmart.

But I say that any town that boasts a church like this is worth its weight in gold!

All typical American towns need a Wallmart.
Have a great day Allison.

I could agree more, Allison. That is a precious little church. I love that it looks a little weather worn, like it has been used a lot.
Its better off with out a Walmart!
Hugs ;)

Old churches are right up there next to old barns. We used to drive by Elkhorn going back to Illinois but now we take a different way. We'll have to head back through there the next time and check it out.

Oh my, the town looks gorgeous and I adore the peeling paint. Something surreal about town without a Walmart, as if frozen in time. Lovely post.

That town is beautiful! The church picture is my favorite. I can just imagine the years of worship that it represents. Carla

Some small towns have avoided Wally World, a savior of their small business.

I agree wholeheartedly that towns devoid of a Walmart are the very best kind! xoxo
