We pulled into the Lake Geneva, Wisconsin area in awe and admiration. This is what welcomed us... fields hidden between clusters of houses, bordering lake, bordering sky, bordering a most intimate outpouring of natural splendour.

Sitting on the side of the road, I watched as sun slowly sank. "Mom... don't we need to find a hotel before it's dark?" Ah... yes. In a minute. There will be room for us somewhere.

It was dark as black velvet when we finally checked in. Let's stay here awhile, I heard myself saying. "Yes, mom. Let's stay."

Allison, your trip has been just awesome and I've enjoyed each post. Sometimes when we go we don't stop and enjoy the view, we just keep going down the road. But sometimes we do and I have a hard time leaving too.
